Pain 88/100

There was so much pain dragging her down like the undertow of a dark ocean. It destroyed every attempt to pull herself to safer shores. She would lose herself to the pain; she was sure of it. It was only a matter of time before she allowed the pain to consume her beneath inky black waves.

However, a familiar, warm sound reached her ears and she could feel the tears linger at the edge of her eyes. The words comforted her like a blanket and the melody blocked out the pain, saving her from the inevitable destruction.
